If you’re looking for a one-day activity or are a fan of museums, look no further than China Three Gorges Museum, also known as Chongqing Museum. Situated in the west part of People’s Square in Chongqing, it is conveniently located and filled with beautiful displays of Chinese art and artifacts saved from the construction of the Three Gorges Dam and surrounding areas.
Being that I visited this museum on my very first day in Chongqing, the English speaking guide was able to provide the perfect introduction to the history of Chongqing area and China in general. If you’re new to the area or the country, this may be a great starting point.
At the museum entrance, you’ll find a beautiful view of Chongqing’s Great Hall of People. Have a seat in the museum’s cafe to do some people watching and enjoy the view.
